Everything families need to get started and stay informed — communication, documents, safety, program expectations, equipment, and wrestling basics.
Both Youth and High School use WrestlingIQ (WIQ) for team communication. Download the app, then join with an invitation from your program’s coaches. Youth families can also receive an invitation after completing registration.

Youth wrestlers need an AAU membership for practices and AAU duals. Purchase through the official AAU portal after creating an account, using the club code provided during registration.
Concussions and head injuries must be taken seriously. Even a “ding” or bump on the head can be significant. You cannot see a concussion, and most sports concussions occur without loss of consciousness.
Any athlete even suspected of suffering a concussion should be removed from the game or practice immediately. No athlete may return to activity after an apparent head injury or concussion without medical clearance.
A youth athlete who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury in a practice or game shall be removed from competition at that time and may not return to play until evaluated by a licensed health care provider trained in concussion management and given written clearance.
These expectations represent the standard for Peachtree Ridge Wrestling from youth through high school. Wrestlers, parents, and coaches all play a role in creating a program built on accountability, discipline, effort, and growth.
Be a Person of Your Word
If you say you are going to do something, do it. Your teammates and coaches should be able to count on you. Honor your commitments and communicate when something prevents you from doing so.
Give Your Best Every Day
Your best may look different from one day to the next, but your effort is always within your control. Be focused, coachable, prepared to work, and committed to finishing every drill, practice, and match.
Be Dedicated to Your Team and the Sport
Wrestling requires more than showing up. Take care of your body, academics, attitude, responsibilities, preparation, and teammates. Your decisions away from the mat affect your ability to succeed on it.
Compete Until the End
Never give up on yourself or mentally remove yourself from a match. Whether there are four minutes left or four seconds left, continue wrestling, looking to score, and believing you can win. The match is not over until the final whistle.
Show Up and Communicate
Consistent attendance is essential to improvement. Be on time, prepared, and ready to work. When illness, injury, academics, family responsibilities, or another legitimate issue affects your attendance, communicate with your coaches.
Specific attendance requirements may differ between the youth and high school programs.
Cheer, Don’t Coach
Encourage wrestlers from the stands and allow the coaching staff to provide technical instruction. During competition, wrestlers need to hear and focus on their coaches.
Handle Concerns Privately
Address questions or concerns directly with a coach or program leader away from athletes and competition. Difficult conversations should never take place in front of wrestlers.
Respect the Officials
Officials will make mistakes. Arguing calls teaches wrestlers to focus on things outside their control rather than taking accountability for what they can control.
Keep Your Cool
The intensity or “heat of the moment” is never an excuse for inappropriate behavior. Parents and guardians set the example for how our wrestlers respond to adversity.
Support Every Wrestler
Cheer for our wrestlers as if they were your own. Never speak negatively about another wrestler’s performance, ability, or effort.
Respect Our Opponents
Do not bad-mouth opposing wrestlers, coaches, teams, or parents. We can compete fiercely while treating our opponents with respect.
Keep the Car Ride Supportive
Win or lose, focus post-match conversations on effort, attitude, growth, and what your wrestler learned. Leave technical analysis and coaching to the coaching staff.
From a wrestler’s first day in the youth program through their final high school match, we expect everyone representing Peachtree Ridge Wrestling to uphold these standards and contribute positively to our program, our school, and our community.

Youth wrestling serves K–8 athletes. Age brackets for events are similar to Pop Warner (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U). High school students compete on the high school team.
